Purpose

To protect children and vulnerable adults from harm, abuse, neglect and exploitation in all Foundation activities.

Key commitments

  • Zero tolerance of abuse and exploitation; the welfare of the child or vulnerable person is paramount.
  • Safer recruitment, screening and a clear code of behaviour.
  • A designated Safeguarding Focal Point and deputy receive and coordinate responses to concerns.
  • Concerns are reported immediately and serious cases referred to the competent authorities.
  • Partners and grantees must meet equivalent safeguarding standards; reporting in good faith is protected.
