To engage volunteers safely, fairly and effectively, with clear expectations and protection for all.

Key commitments

  • Volunteers have written role descriptions and are not a substitute for paid staff.
  • Volunteers in contact with children or vulnerable persons are screened and supervised.
  • Volunteers are inducted on conduct, safeguarding, data and health-and-safety policies.
  • Legitimate out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed; no disguised employment is created.
